Stress reduction

 

Relaxation exercise, autogenic training, biofeedback or psychological assistance are recommended for patients who are grinding their teeth due to stress.

With biofeedback patients are visually or acoustically shown bodily functions such as muscle tension or pulse rate, that they are not otherwise conscious of. This teaches the patient to relax and to make a conscious effort to relax the masticatory muscles.
